The hidden and forgotten – Le caché et l’oublié.
The half remembered, the unsure-what-to-do-with, the sentimental or attachment-anxiety objects, removed from the context that once gave them a function or meaning.
The Attic– A space uncurated, often a random collection of furniture, objects, ephemera. Of orphaned ‘things’, un-anchored from their histories through loss of context and the passing of time. It is place where forgetting and remembering quietly ferment. Where nothing happens but time changes meanings – the contemporary become anachronistic, the broken becomes decrepit, the sentimental become a shadow of a memory, the story as to the why and how they ended up there, are forgotten.
